Health Insurance Billing
We keep our prices lower then most because we don’t pay a staff member to deal with insurance companies directly
(it’s a full time job and it’s dirty work!). BUT we CAN help you get reimbursed if you follow the guidelines listed below:
Before your session ask your insurance company these 3 things:
Will they accept “a super bill receipt from an out of network acupuncturist” and what address should you send it to.
Write down what ailments your policy will cover you for (acute injury/ chronic pain/ sleep/ digestion/ PTSD). Bring this list with you (hopefully it’s long!). If you have a specific ailment in mind ask about that one directly. (If you want to roll the dice we can skip this step and see what they send you in the mail after you send the receipt in!!)
Ask them how many sessions will they pay for and what percentage of the fees will they cover (ie $50 per session or 75% of each session)
*NOTE: if they do not cover acupuncture we have package rates to help you get the help you deserve - and you may qualify for our student or senior citizen rates.
Now, at the start of every appointment with us ask for a “SuperBill” and we can prepare it for you before you leave.
Mail the receipt into your insurance company (yes you can mail several at a time) and wait for a check!
The insurance company is REIMBURSING YOU, NOT PAYING US
We do charge you for every visit at the time of the visit.
And if you’re using super bill receipts for insurance reimbursement, we must charge the single session rate each time as per regulations. This means no package rates or discounts of any kind..
